21 April 2008	Meeting	David Wheeler FRPS EFIAP/s “Places & Faces” David Wheeler gained his Fellowship of the Royal Photographic Society (RPS) at the age of 23 and now sits on the Visual Arts Distinctions Panel assessing Associate and Fellowship applications. He has entered his work into several hundred salons both in UK and abroad, gaining the award of Excellence of the Federation International de l’Art Photographique at the silver level (FIAP/s) in 2005 on the basis of his acceptance record. Other accolades include first prize in the Sunday Telegraph Photographer of the Year competition in 1986. He has been a member of Smethwick Photographic Society for 30 years and is currently serving his second term as president. He has judged several international exhibitions, lectured extensively and has recently had his first exhibition at the Hooper’s Gallery in London. In 2005 he became a member of the London Salon of Photography. NOTE: 7.00PM start. Collection of images for annual awards night.

31 March 2008	Meeting	Geoff Stone "And Now For Something Completely Digital" A digital AV show on a variety of subjects including some rejuvenated old Fellowship sequences and some new work, including panoramic and Infra-red photography. It is purely for entertainment and not an instructional evening.

10 March 2008	Meeting	Paula Davies ARPS and Guy Davies LRPS “Double Exposure”. Visiting us from North Yorkshire, Paula and Guy are both keen photographers with many international exhibition successes.  They travel widely but frequently see the same scenes quite differently.  Guy generally enjoys landscape photography and likes to see the big picture, Paula likes to look for intimate details and enjoys applying some artistic creativity in Photoshop and Painter. 11 February 2008	Meeting	Wet and Dry - Jim Hartje ARPS, EFIAP, DPAGB, APAGB, BPE5* "Wet & Dry" is a print lecture from this eminent photographer that will take us on a trip through the picture processes that Jim has tried over the years - Cibachrome, Neg/Pos Colour, Monochrome, including infra-red in the darkroom - then on to today's modern techniques with prints from an inkjet printer that have been digitally enhanced in a computer, and finally to images that have been taken on a digital camera and output through a printer. This promises to be a fascinating evening.
